Each state determined on its own which types of products would be eligible for rebates as part of the $300 million State Energy Efficient Appliance Rebate Program, or cash for clunkers for appliances. Note that every item has to be at least Energy Star qualified. Some states have opted to include a limited number of appliances in the program, including Hawaii and North Dakota, which are offering rebates only for refrigerators. Other states are covering a wide range of kitchen. laundry, and heating and cooling appliances.
