Kitchen Safety

The kitchen is one of the rooms people spend the most time in. Ensure the safety of yourself and others in the kitchen by following these tips:

• Always stay in the kitchen while cooking on the range

• Keep children and pets away from the range when anyone is cooking

• Keep your cooking area clean, and keep things that can burn (plastic bags, dish towels, etc.) away from the range top

• Keep your water heater set at 120 degrees Fahrenheit to avoid hot water burns

• Electrical outlets in the kitchen, especially near the sink, should have Ground-Fault Circuit Interrupters (GFCIs) to prevent a dangerous shock

• List emergency numbers in a visible area
