A toilet leak could be caused because of many different reasons. But before starting the repairing, it is essential to make sure that the toilet is actually leaking or it is just the sweating in the toilet. Once you are sure that the toilet is leaking, you can start its repairing.

Toilet leaks are typically related to three situations. First, the toilet wax ring may have failed. The toilet wax ring sits underneath the toilet bowl and forms an air tight seal with the toilet trap.

In case the wax ring of your toilet has failed or the toilet bowl screws that are responsible for holding the bowl to the floor are loose then water can seep around the edges of the toilet bowl. This type of leakage can be determined by using a paper towel and slipping it under and around the toilet bowl base.
