The Innovation for Global Relief

Excerpt from Plumb-Biz E-Letter

It’s no secret that we plumbers are often derided and are frequently the butt of crack jokes etc. But every now and then there are glimmers of admiration, which is what today’s Plumb-Biz is all about.

Ashlynne, a young lady at my daughter’s school is participating the National History Day competition and guess what she has chosen as her subject? Nothing less than the life saving throne of relief, the toilet. Ashlynne researched her topic and created props and a presentation extolling the virtues of the health protection our profession delivers.

Here’s a video snippet I made of her presentation. The whole presentation is about 10 minutes long with lots more information.

She entered her project in the state wide competition, winning second place (keep in mind that Texas is a very big state and nearly all of us have flush toilets these days).

Now, she is eligible for a NATIONAL stage. With a little good luck, I can see this message getting traction in the blogoshpere so it can be a boost for the esteem of our profession.
