Tremendous Work Ethic, and Personal Courtesy
I wanted to say thank you and let you know about the excellent experience I had working with Steve McIntyre from Nixco Plumbing today.
About two weeks ago I noticed moisture in my basement dripping from the aperture in my foundation wall where the water main comes into the house. Â I snapped a couple of pictures of the service and the meter and emailed them to Guy. Â He let me know that Nixco would really prefer not to do work with an old lead service (which mine was), but that he would send out Steve to take a look at the situation in person.
Steve let me know that he thought the leak was coming from the pipe either inside the foundation or just outside the house. Â He said the foundation would need to be cored out and the lead pipe would need to be replaced with copper back out to wherever the leak was, but that he could do it because it was close enough to the house.
The utilities company marked the underground wires (gas line is about a foot away from the water main) and Steve was back out a day later with the backhoe. Â He worked straight for about 6 hours, dug up the pipe, found the leak, replaced the pipe through the foundation, concreted it up and even replaced an old valve inside the basement adjacent to the meter.
Steve was personable and professional, he explained his process through each stage, his work was tidy and he even managed to save and replant a shrub that had to be dug up in the process of uncovering the leak.
It was great to work with a professional in the service industry that had such tremendous work ethic, and personal courtesy. Â I would absolutely recommend Nixco Plumbing and Steve McIntyre to my friends.
