Do You Have a Water Leak in Your Home?
It is imperative to recognize a water leak as soon as possible in order to avoid damage. Call us immediately if you detect any of the following signs of a water leak:
The most noticeable sign will show on your walls and floors. They will be wet and spongy-like, and sometimes blistering. Also, look for unexplained discoloration.
Be aware of unpleasant odors coming from your floors or walls near your drains.
If your floors feel warm, especially concrete slab floors, you might have a leak.
Compare your water bills each month: If they are escalating, and you aren't using more water, there is a potential problem.
When Is a Professional Drain Cleaning Necessary?
Keeping your drains and pipes unclogged and in tip-top shape is essential for your plumbing system. Regular cleanings can prevent problems before they happen. However, any of the following four signs indicate a problem that requires a professional drain cleaning:
You hear gurgling sounds from your drain.
When you flush your toilet, water backs up in your bathtub.
You notice slow draining from any of your fixtures, including sinks, showers, tubs, dishwasher and washing machine.
When using your washing machine, your toilet tends to overflow.

Does Your Water Heater Need Repairs or to Be Replaced?
In order to avoid flooding and/or staining, your water heater should be repaired or replaced at the first sign of trouble. The last thing you want is its contents spilled out all over your floors!
Keep in mind, the lifespan of a hot water heater is about ten years. If you notice any of the following symptoms, call us right away to help you decide if it's worth repairing or needs to be replaced.
There is a puddle of water around the heater. This warrants immediate action. It's possible the corrosion in your tank has eaten its way through.
You have water temperature variations. Most of us notice if the water in our shower is not hot enough, but water that is unusually hot is also a sign of malfunction.
Don't ignore cloudy water. This is a sign that calcium and magnesium deposits are accumulating in your tank. Also, Â look for dirty or rusty looking water.
You hear banging, crackling or popping noises. It's almost as if your water heater is screaming for attention. Don't ignore it.
If your hot water heater has a metallic smell, it's time to give us a call.
If you notice any of the above danger signs, whether it be related to water leaks, drainage issues or a hot water heater, please call us at Nixco Plumbing Inc. We are happy to help you correct any existing problems and avoid future problems.
The work was done in a timely manner and Shawn Crank was up front and very polite while doing the job. Will use you guys again if I have something comes up. and tell my friends!
Tops from Nixco fixed a leak in our master bath shower. They arrived on time assessed the situation and was able to give me a quote and fix the issue right away. He was fast, efficient and cleaned up the mess. Great job!
Shawn came to troubleshoot our problem and did an excellent job. He explained everything and gave us some great advice on what we need to do in the fall to keep this from happening again. We joined the MVP club and were very satisfied with his work. Would highly recommend this company and Shawn. Mary Horning
Nixco Plumbing has assisted me twice over the last month or so. Great customer service over the phone and quality work from the gentleman that have come out to my home. Sean Crank & his co worker did an amazing job ! They will be the first company I reach out to for future assistance !
Shawn fixed not only one but two of my garbage disposals. He gave me the pricing upfront so I could decide to move forward with the repairs or not. He also preformed a free health and safety test, where we discovered the GI was tripped on my sump pump. Had he not offered this service we may have not known until we had a problem. I would highly recommend Nixco Plumbing!
Started out okay but ended poorly. It was easy to schedule an appointment to repair an unseen audible leak. Tech arrived on time and was professional. But after cutting out a section of drywall the leak could not be found and I was advised to have an outside company locate the leak. I was charged $290 for the drywall removal (but not patched) and still had no answers or solutions. They also quoted $1,000 to replace the PRV which was a separate issue. After having the leak located by an outside specialist (same small area where the Nixco tech had removed drywall) I called Nixco to get it fixed, hoping to get a reasonable price as I had already been charged $290 for only a hole in the drywall. I was told they couldn't schedule an estimate until the following week and it would cost $39.95 unless I wanted to pay more for a weekend service call. I declined and went with a different plumbing company that had provided a speedy, free, much more reasonable price. They repaired the original leak that Nixco couldn't find, the PRV that Nixco quoted at $1,000, and two shut-off valves all for $750. I do not recommend Nixco.
We just moved to the area and tried a few different plumbers and Nixco was by far the best experience. Todd was not only kind, informative and prompt, he actively worked to solve and diagnose the problems.Update 1/3/2023: Russ replaced our water heater today and we could not be happier! He was timely, professional and thorough. We will keep going back to Nixco.Update 4/9/2024: John was awesome pulling and replacing both our toilet and vanity. Another successful Nixco experience! We will be using them again and highly recommend!
Gabe was so helpful and awesome!! He knew exactly what was wrong with our bathtub and fixed it so quickly! He explained all of our payment options clearly. And he gave possibilities of other fixes we could do but didn’t pressure us at all to do any of them!! Highly recommend!
Kris was excellent from the 1st phone call! He was courteous and professional. He came into our house about 8:00 pm. Replaced our sump pump and battery backup in record time during a rain event. Great job! Thank you Kris and Nixco Plumbing.
Russ visited us during what can only be called a Sewer Related Plumbing Emergency. He was professional, thorough, and honest. After 3 hours he was unable to fix the issue; but came back the next morning and got back to work. Four hours later, the job was done and done correctly. Russ is definitely an asset to NixCo.
Gabe and helper arrived as scheduled. Very professional job ensued for the installation of electric/gas water heaters. Completed installation with minimal disruption to house routine. Wore foot booties to protect carpeting and even put them on hand truck wheels as they used it to move heaters up/down stairs during installation. Gabe definitely took pride in his work. Also took extra effort to install homeowners supplied spring check valves which hopefully would fix bleeder issues between the two heaters. I was very happy about that fix! Would definitely recommend his services to anyone!
Todd with Nixco Plumbing has done a few jobs for us here at Fairfield VW. He has been timely in response and his work is top notch! I highly recommend him to anyone looking for their plumbing needs!
After our water softener went haywire and spewed water all over our laundry room, we used the shutoff valve on the back of it to shut the water to it off - which worked for about a week. Then last Friday we tried repairing it by putting a new gasket in the Venturi valve, which is one of the fixes for the leaking. That didn't work and it started leaking again. We couldn't stop the leaking so we had to turn the water off to the whole house. No water for two whole days!I called Nixco on Saturday and explained the situation. They told me someone from the office would call me on Monday between 8:00 and 9:00AM.They did and made an appointment! They came today - the very same day - to assess and repair. Found out that the old one had a broken collar and nothing was going to fix it! But we also found out it was UNDER WARRANTY! They brought and installed a new one. It's up and running and we have water! YAY!Gabe, Jerod and a third fella, whose name I can't remember, were here nearly two hours, emptied the old one, which was full of salty water, took it out of here and cleaned everything up. Fantastic job! And very grateful for the stellar service.
Kris B was very knowledgeable, professional, and friendly as he plumbed the set up for my steam shower unit. When it was later determined that a change had to be made to meet the steam unit's warranty demands, he came back out promptly and Nixco did NOT charge me a penny, even though they didn't really do anything wrong in the initial setup. How rare it is in today's world to be treated like you matter as a customer. I highly recommend this company to anyone who wishes to work with a company that sees doing right by it's customers is the right way to do business.
So professional Kris wasGreat. He was so kind andReally set me at ease. HopeThis is the last time. IfI do need a plumber againNIXCO will be the onlyPlace I call. Thanks
"As always, Nixco saves the day for me. I've experienced two big broken projects within the last 2 years- a broken water line from my house to the road and a dead hot water heater. A morning phone call lead to work being done that day- both times. The employees are wonderful and very helpful. I recommend them hugely!"

"Chad was professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. I needed to have my garbage disposal replaced and it was a very smooth process. I would recommend this company to others and will use them for future plumbing needs."

"We have used Nixco a few times now and couldn't be more impressed with the work Chris has done for us. We had an outdoor faucet replaced and a new hot water heater installed and all dealings with Nixco have been great. Chris himself is always great and very professional. Would definitely recommend!"
